New Areas
Greensleeves LawnCare is very pleased to announce that we have been able to add a number of new areas to those in which we are already trading successfully. In March 2008 we launched franchises in both Newmarket and Edinburgh; in May 2008 we launched in Sutton Coldfield, Shropshire and South Cheshire. In July we have started a new business in Tyne and Wear, all of the new areas have made promising starts to the trading history and we are confident that the service they are all able to offer will match the high quality that is enjoyed by our many thousands of customers across the existing trading areas in the UK. Greensleeves LawnCare network continues to grow and we are expecting to start at least two more new trading areas in 2008 with a further 6 to 10 planned for 2009. Press Release - NEW OWNERSHIP
NEW OWNERSHIP CREATES FRANCHISE OPPORTUNITIES FOR GREENSLEEVES LAWNCARE
Leading Lawn care company Greensleeves has been bought out by an exciting new management team. Three of the new team first bought a Greensleeves franchise and then liked the opportunities so much they bought the complete business and plans to grow the 22 strong franchise business across the UK are well underway.
The buyout was led by franchise director David Truby. The new team has more than 40 years experience in the lawn and garden industry and includes two top performing Greensleeves franchisees as well as an independent Lawncare operator.
2007 was a great year for Greensleeves LawnCare with our franchisees enjoying an average growth of over 35%. Seven new territories were added to the network and it’s envisaged that 2008 will be an even better year, which will firmly position the company as a proven national brand.
Mr Truby said “our franchisees enjoy a strong and very loyal customer base and truly benefit from and value the effective marketing as well as business and technical support that we provide. Greensleeves customers benefit from our affordable, quality Lawncare service. One of our priorities is to expand our strong northern regional presence into a national brand, developing through the midlands into the Home Counties and beyond bringing our much sought after and effective service to the entire nation. Historically we have found that the franchise is particularly suited to family teams as well entrepreneurial individuals that can grow their own business quickly and profitably” .
Greensleeves offers the ideal solution for anyone who wants a healthy, attractive lawn but can’t spare the time it takes to achieve this or is unable to physically, from time-poor professionals to the retired. Removing weeds and controlling moss as well as Machine Scarification and Hollow Tine Aeration all help to provide a lawn the house holder can be truly proud of.
Achieving and maintaining a quality lawn is a year-round activity, which means Greensleeves services are in demand throughout all four seasons. LawnCare Calender SPRING
Nearly every British garden, regardless of its size or shape has a lawn. A well and maintained lawn greatly enhances the nature of a Garden. The ideal lawn should be both practical and ornamental, be able to resist reasonable amounts of wear and tear and be resistant to drought and water logging, so that it looks attractive and healthy throughout the year. Even when established it is essential to follow a number of routine procedures to maintain the lawn in prime condition though too many assumed that a mature lawn will take care of itself. It needs regular feeding, weed and moss control as well watering and mechanical maintenance. Greensleeves have put together a month-by-month guide indicating approximate times when particular operations or treatments can be undertaken effectively.
February. Check for signs of worm activity and disperse any casts using a stiff broom. Toward the end of the month is the time to start to think about Moss Control, a moss treatment can be applied if the weather is settled, if not leave until March. Towards the end of the month begin preparation for spring sowing of grass seed if soil conditions and weather are suitable. If the weather is reasonable dry the lawn should be cut at least once during February with the blades set high.
March. Lightly rake the lawn to remove debris - then mow with the blade set high. Moss treatment can be carried out during March after mowing and the lawn can be scarified to remove any dead moss and any other debris such as thatch that has developed. Roll the lawn if the turf has been lifted by frost. Feeding should take place to ensure the lawn starts to recover from the rigors of winter and reaches peek health in spring. If weather is mild and dry early weed treatment can take place to start to deal with the more stubborn weeds prior to their flowering.
